Everyone needs to have a safe room in their house. Everything changed for this family when a mother hears a noise, a familiar noise, one that rings horror when no one else is out of bed…footsteps. Rushing to their panic room, the family hides as the intruder tries to coax the children out with promises, while the reader wanders through flashbacks of the mother’s life to get to the bottom of what is going on. The worst realization was when she heard the voice and knew exactly who he was and what he wanted. She is the victim once again.
